Planning a Trip

So my current fun is planning a trip to Boston with Becca. I got this idea from my friend Corinne who takes all her chlidren on a mother/child trip when they turn 12. We are studing the writters from the area during the early 1820-40"s and then going to see the places they wrote at and about. Currently my list includes Nathnaiel Hawthorne, Henry James, Edgar Allen Poe, Thoreau's Walden Pond, Mary Swensen, Alcott, Emerson and Washington Irving's The legend of Sleepy Hollow. This should keep us busy for awhile. Most importantly is a trip to Kimball's icecream. They normally open on Patriots day and that is the day we leave. It might have to be our last stop on the way to the airport but I can't go all that way and not go!!!! I am actually very nervous about the trip. We rarly go on vacations that aren't driving to see family in CA or Utah. This will be the first time I am the one renting a car and being in charge. Wish me luck! We don't go until April 10th but I think the planning is just as fun as the trip itself.

How fun! What a great tradition to have. I LOVED Kimball Farms. Have a serving for me too K?

You fixed the comments! I agree, planning the trip is half the fun. And have some chocolate chip mint ice cream for me!

What a great tradition! It is one your children will cherish all their lives. Before you know it, Andrew will be 12 and you'll be taking him snowbaording somewhere! :-) And I'm so glad you figured out the comments thing.

That sounds so exciting. I think its even better that you are doing research and preparing for it together: it makes the anticipation that much greater. I still can hardly believe Becca will be 12!

Hurray, I can comment!

First of all, WHEN is your birthday???

You and Becca will remember this always. I get nervous, like you. It's a little crazy traveling, but so good for Becca to see you be in charge and to also help herself in the planning/navigating/etc.

Good job!
